Winter on the Mantlepiece
January done already. Feels like February has come around fast - I thought I'd get so much done in January but I haven't got much to show for it. We've been settling in to our new routine now Henry is at nursery and generally things feel pretty good around here.
Having some free time is still quite a novelty so sometimes I do find myself doing random tasks - this morning I noticed that our hellebores had gone into overdrive (maybe they like the rain?) so I cut a few and spent a lot more time than I should have taking photos of them, but you know, it was nice to do.
So January on the mantlepiece went like this:
Pussy willow and ilex left over from Christmas...
To hyacinths...
...until Henry's cards were cleared away on the last day of January.

Your hellebores look gorgeous. I should cut some of ours and enjoy them inside too, but I can never bring myself to do it.
ReplyDeleteI adore these posts and the hellebores look amazinf
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've got a bit more free time, it's so rare when it happens and so wonderful! Love the flower shots too.
ReplyDeleteLovely hellebores, mine do not look like this but I did only plant them in December!! My son just started pre school and I also find myslef doing weird things, last week I cleaned the toaster.
ReplyDeleteLovely! And think of all the spring blooms to come - I've gone a bit potty scattering daffs and camelias around our flat and hoping for some pretty fringed tulips for mothers day!
